Cindy Crawford's Son Presley Gerber Dies at 27

Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old model and son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died Sunday at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. His family has asked for privacy, and an official cause of death had not been released as of Monday.

Authorities have not announced a cause

CBS Los Angeles reported that the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Gerber’s death but did not list a cause. The family spokesperson’s statement focused on privacy during what the family described as a difficult and painful time.

Because the official finding remains pending, early reports about the circumstances should not be treated as a final medical conclusion. The Medical Examiner is responsible for determining the cause and manner of death.

He entered modeling as a teenager

Gerber followed his mother and younger sister, Kaia Gerber, into modeling. Variety reported that he signed with IMG Models at 15 and later appeared in major campaigns and runway shows.

He also worked with Crawford in a 2018 Pepsi campaign that recreated elements of her famous 1992 advertisement. That family connection made Presley recognizable even to people who did not closely follow his own modeling career.

His family had spoken about his struggles

Variety reported that Kaia recently discussed her brother’s long struggle with drug addiction and said his willingness to speak openly had changed the way the family approached difficult subjects. Presley himself had previously talked publicly about mental health and substance-use challenges.
