Florida Man Charged With Murder After Girlfriend Found on I-95
By Cameron Hale. Apr 2, 2025
A Florida man has been charged with second-degree murder after traffic surveillance footage contradicted his account of how his 21-year-old girlfriend came to be found naked and unresponsive on the shoulder of Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County on December 7, 2024. Lorent Junior Pion, 29, had initially told police that Nahomi Cittadini jumped from his moving vehicle during an argument. Investigators reviewing Florida Department of Transportation camera footage reported seeing a man matching Pion’s description striking a woman and dragging her into the path of oncoming traffic.
The Scene on I-95
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to multiple 911 calls on December 7, 2024, reporting a couple arguing on the roadside near Ives Dairy Road. Officers arrived to find Cittadini’s body on the highway shoulder. At the time, a detective noted partial clothing present near the scene but could not immediately determine how Cittadini had become undressed, according to WSVN. Pion was present and told officers Cittadini had exited the vehicle voluntarily.
Surveillance Footage and Arrest Warrant
Investigators obtained footage from FDOT traffic cameras that they say told a different story. According to the arrest warrant, the footage showed a man believed to be Pion punching Cittadini and dragging her toward the highway. A witness account described Cittadini crawling back to the emergency shoulder before being struck by an oncoming sedan after allegedly being dragged back into the travel lane, according to CBS News. Pion is accused of leaving the scene on foot after the vehicle struck her.
Blood was found both inside and outside Pion’s vehicle, further contradicting his initial account. The arrest warrant also noted that Cittadini had filed a protective order against Pion in August 2024 following a prior domestic violence incident in Miami Beach, establishing a documented history of conflict between the two.
Prior Domestic History and Legal Response
Pion was initially arrested on charges of fleeing police and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. Following the review of surveillance footage and additional evidence, he was formally charged with second-degree murder. Cittadini’s mother, Maria Benitez, told CBS News that she was relieved charges had been filed, stating Pion would have to face consequences for what he did.
Case Status
Pion faces a second-degree murder charge. The investigation by Miami-Dade law enforcement remains ongoing.
