October Arrest Follows Crash and Shooting

Two men were shot after their BMW crashed into a vacant bowling alley, Shreveport police said, and a suspect now faces murder charges. Investigators arrested Lesabian Thomas on October 8 on two counts of second-degree murder in the September deaths.

David Young, 26, and LaJames Smith, 31, were found wounded inside the white BMW on Mansfield Road shortly after midnight September 12. Both were taken to a hospital, where they died, according to police information published by KSLA.

Camera Footage Shows a Second Vehicle

Investigators reviewed footage obtained through the department’s Real Time Crime Center. Police said it showed the BMW traveling at high speed, losing control and striking the building.

A gray SUV arrived about 40 seconds later, according to the department’s account. Police allege a person left the SUV, approached the crashed BMW and fired into it before returning to the SUV and leaving.

Two Murder Counts Filed

Detectives identified Thomas as a suspect and questioned him October 8. He was arrested after the interview and booked into Shreveport City Jail.

The two charges concern the deaths of Young and Smith. Thomas remains accused, and the department said the investigation was ongoing when it announced his arrest.
