Remains Confirm Missing Texas Boy Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez

By Riley Monroe. May 20, 2026

The Remains Discovery and Identification

Human remains were found at a property in Everman, Texas on Thursday. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Friday that the remains belong to Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, a 6-year-old boy missing since October 2022.

The identification was made using dental records, according to Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells. The medical examiner’s office did not immediately disclose the cause and manner of death in its public announcement.

Everman is a city of approximately 6,100 people located about eight miles south of downtown Fort Worth.

The Disappearance and Flight

The last time Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was seen by extended family members was in October 2022. The boy’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez Singh, and her husband left for India on March 22, 2023 - two days after Everman police attempted a welfare check at the family home.

On March 20, 2023, Everman police visited the family residence at the request of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. At that time, Rodriguez Singh told officers that Noel was staying with family in Mexico. This claim was later determined to be untrue, according to then-Police Chief Craig Spencer.

Two days after the welfare check, Rodriguez Singh, her husband, and six of their children departed on a plane bound for India. Noel was not with them.

Police announced a search for the boy in April 2023.

Federal Charges and Apprehension

Rodriguez Singh was charged in absentia in October 2023 with capital murder. She was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives List.

In August 2024, Rodriguez Singh was apprehended in India and returned to Texas. She is being held at the Lon Evans Corrections Center in Fort Worth pending trial.

Prosecution and Competency Question

Tarrant County District Attorney Phil Sorrells announced: “Here at the district attorney’s office, we will continue to seek justice for Noel. We owe that to him and to the citizens of Tarrant County.”

A psychologist found Rodriguez Singh not competent to stand trial, according to Sorrells. However, Sorrells stated that it is expected her competency could be restored and that she will stand trial.

As of Friday evening, the case did not appear in online Tarrant County court records, and it was not immediately clear whether Rodriguez Singh had been assigned an attorney.
